Florida has sunken. But lost civilizations make for epic stories. Paradise Profound follows a roundtable group of post-modern scholars as they piece together what remains of Florida with the hopes of writing the next great legend. Because Atlantis is sooo BCE.
Writing
Between October and November of 2024, I wrote the book and collaborated on lyric development alongside composer Alex Irwin. I worked with dramaturg Claire Thurston to revise script drafts and bring a finalized version into the rehearsal room.
Directing
Throughout a short, five day rehearsal process, I led table work with my cast of eleven actors and introduced blocking. I staged each scene and choreographed musical numbers. I also worked with stage management to organize productive daily schedules.
Design & Production
I assembled a team of designers and collaborated with them on a production concept, overseeing cohesion across departments. I served as liason between the production and the Playground Committee for technical needs.
